The method

The four-step mirror, run live.

Every session runs 90 minutes in two halves. The first 60 minutes are built around a four-step “mirror” pattern: an experiment run live on the class; an explanation of how the same effect shows up in an AI model; a live demonstration on a real chatbot; and a concrete, named takeaway skill. The final 30 minutes are a guided hands-on segment on the students' own laptops, with a timed run of show, a fixed deliverable and a verification checklist.

Answers are locked before anyone sees the spread — so the room can't anchor on itself, and the gap between confidence and correctness is real.

    Commit

    Everyone votes a private answer on their own phone — a damages estimate, a position on a contested proposition, real or AI. No hands, no anchoring on the loudest voice in the room.

  2. 02

    Lock

    The poll closes. Answers are sealed before anyone sees the spread. We capture not just the choice but how sure the room was.

  3. 03

    Reveal

    The distribution goes up on screen. Confidence and correctness rarely line up — and the gap is the lesson, made visible in real time.

  4. 04

    Mirror it on the model

    The presenter runs the same prompt live on a real chatbot. The machine's failure mode mirrors the room's — and now you can name the skill that fixes both.

Scripted for law

Experiments the room never forgets

The mechanic is the same; the scenarios are legal. Each one runs the room and the machine through the same trap, then names the skill that defends against it.

Anchoring

Priming on a damages or bail estimate

Half the room sees a high anchor, half a low one, before estimating the same figure. The split in the locked answers shows anchoring at work — then the same anchor is fed to the model, which drifts the same way.

Sycophancy

Agreement on a contested proposition

The room commits to a position on a contested legal proposition. The presenter then asks the model to confirm it, then to argue against it — and the two answers go up side by side. Confidence is not correctness, on either side of the mirror.

Confidence gap

Real or AI?

A sequence of images and clips. The room commits to real or fake, and to how sure it is. The tally shows it scored worse than it predicted — the same over-confidence that makes a fluent chatbot answer feel true.

Hallucination

Will it invent the law?

The room predicts what a chatbot will do when asked for Indian case law on a niche point. Then it is asked. Then the citations are searched on Indian Kanoon, in front of everyone.
